Mental health parity law enacted

The Wellstone-Domenici mental health parity bill (HR 6983) was enacted today as part of the financial rescue bill (HR 1424) that President Bush signed into law. The new requirements will become applicable to the FEHB Program in 2010. The National Alliance on Mental Illness and America's Health Insurance Plans both issued press releases applauding this news.
